The Supreme Court ruled Monday that current federal law forbids task discrimination based on intimate orientation or transgender status, an important success for advocates of homosexual legal rights and also for the nascent transgender liberties motion — and an astonishing one from an ever more conservative court.
The court said Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which makes it illegal for employers to discriminate because of a person’s sex, among other factors, also covers sexual orientation and transgender webcam latina status by a vote of 6-3.
