This project included completely renovating a basement bathroom / laundry room in a house that is 111-year-old St. Paul, MN. This task posed many different issues typical in taking care of older domiciles. The walk-in that is existing shower had been poorly damaged as a result of moisture and dampness problems. The dryer was indeed illegally vented by having a make shift accordion style plastic vent presenting a dangerous fire hazard. The space had a non-functioning electric wall surface heater made to warm the room. an awkward design made utilizing the area difficult.
Due to the chronilogical age of the house we recognized we might be served with a lot of shocks once construction began. We decided it could make more feeling to demolish the space down seriously to the bare studs and foundation to show a better concept of our situation. The bare walls exposed outdated galvanized plumbing system, some cracks into the foundation and a concealed screen that were covered.
The next phase in the project was to have our plumber go some drains, vents and water lines to support the room layout that is new. Using the brand new plumbing in position we had 12,000 pounds of the latest concrete poured to generate a floor foundation that is new. New 2?6 outside walls, 2?4 interior walls and 3’ x 3’shower had been framed to create the brand new space. Our electrician visited your website and installed the rough wiring that is electrical outlets, lighting, warming chords, fan and switches. The external walls had been sprayed with foam insulation to keep the restroom warmer.
